Welcome Back Twinkies!
After Hostess Brand filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in May 2012 and later began liquidating its assets in November 2012, many wondered what would become of Twinkies, the cream-filled sponge cakes that have been a delicious guilty pleasure for so many for so long. Well, the wondering is over! After being purchased by Apollo Global Management and Metropoulos & Co. for $410 million, Twinkies are back out on the shelf as of today, Friday, July 12th at your local Wal-Mart. They will be available at all other nationwide retailers beginning Monday, July 15th.
