Philip Sasser Certified as Specialist in Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Law

Published March 25, 2014 by Sasser Law Firm

Sasser law Firm attorney, Philip Sasser, was recently certified by both the North Carolina State Bar and the American Board of Certification (ABC) as a specialist in both Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Law. Philip, an associate with Sasser Law Firm since 2008, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Davidson College and his Juris Doctor degree from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, a top tier law school per the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings released Tuesday, March 11, 2014.

These certification programs assist members of the public in the selection of legal counsel by identifying lawyers who have demonstrated special knowledge, skill and proficiency in certain areas of law. The programs also give lawyers a credible way of making their expertise known to the public and other lawyers.

In order to be certified as a specialist in both Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Law by both the North Carolina State Bar and the American Board of Certification, Philip was required to meet the following conditions: To have been in practice for at least five years; devote a significant part of his practice to the specialty area; attend continuing legal education (CLE) seminars in the specialty; be favorably evaluated by other lawyers and judges (peer review); and pass a written examination in the specialty practice area. In the March 2014 American Bankruptcy Institute Journal, the ABC was described as “the preeminent national organization certifying attorneys in business bankruptcy, consumer bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights laws.”

Sasser Law Firm would like to congratulate Philip on these accomplishments.
